What is the difference between using Simatic Manager or TIA Portal and CoDeSys when programming Siemens PLC? In fact codesys can work together with C code(if you using control win). Profinet The most simple way, you can configure the codesys as server or so call slave, then configure the data size that need to exchange. in codesys you can export the gsdxml file and import into siemens. Or you can using a PN/PN couple configure both as master. Both Siemens and Allen Bradley are known for being high quality products and have their own proprietary programming environments but to round up the group, I am bringing Turck into the mix as it is Codesys based.
